Planning on hauling anything this summer? If so, make sure that the tires on your vehicle are in good shape because; lack of tire maintenance can result in serious damage to your vehicle, poor gas mileage and even an accident when you’re on the road.

Basic tire Maintenance

Before hauling anything, take your vehicle to your local tire store or mechanic and have your tires rotated and balanced. This is a necessity because, rotating and balancing your tires every 3,000 to 6,000 miles will help them to always stay in perfect running condition and it will also enable the person who maintains them to spot any nails, glass or debris that may be embedded in your tires.

The Right PSI

Many people might be tempted to overinflate or underinflate their tires but the reality is that you should always follow the manufacturers recommended PSI for your tires because, overinflating or underinflating can also leave to poor driving conditions and even accidents when you’re on the road.

Keep Your Tires Clean

Every time you wash your vehicle, you should be cleaning your tires with a tire conditioner or a bucket of soapy water because, keeping them clean will also enable you to spot any defects in your tires of imbedded debris like nails when it needs to be removed.

Look For Deals

When it comes time to buy wheels and tires, don’t hesitate to look for tire deals online or in the classified section of your local newspaper because, you should never have to pay high prices for tires unless you really want to.
